Comedic irony doesn't mean it has to be funny in the moment, merely that in retrospect the story's end has a humorous (yet admittedly fucked up) resolution to the characters' actions - I would specifically say that Christian's inability to speak at the end and beg Dani to spare him is comedic irony because throughout the entire film, he is constantly avoiding speaking to her honestly.
